Course Introduction to Methodology History of Nursing

AIM:

Course about preparation and development of studies with theoretical and methodological approaches in History of Nursing.

OBJECTIVE:

Teach undergraduate student in nursing basic tools for conducting research in the history for construction of projects, ethical context of research, specific methodologies and dissemination of knowledge produced.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The Cultural and Scientific Course "Introduction to Research Methodology in Nursing History" this is a course aimed at students of undergraduate nursing programs, offered by the Department of Psychiatric Nursing and Human Sciences of University of São Paulo College of Nursing at Ribeirão Preto, in partnership with Research Laboratory History of Nursing School of Nursing Alfredo Pinto - UNIRIO.
The course takes place biannually and includes classroom time in Rio de Janeiro (about 4 days) and the student will have the opportunity to know the first schools of nursing in Brazil and their documentation centers, enabling, also, the exchange between students. The hosting fees are paid by the student.
Apart from scientific training to research the course aims to contribute to the cultural background of students.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Student 2, 3, 4 or 5 years of undergraduate course in Nursing.

PREREQUISITE REQUIRED:

Participation and approval in the discipline of History of Nursing (30h course) before begin the course.

NUMBER OF VACANCIES:

20 (twenty).

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Analysis of curriculum vitae and interview

PROGRAM:

Use of databases in health reserarch
• Development of the scientific project (introduction, objective, methodology, analysis and references)
• Ethics academic aspects in Research, Consent and Informed Consent and the National Information Ethics Sistem (SISNEP)
• Standards for Quotes and References
• Most research methodologies used in the History of Nursing
• Development of a scientific project in the History of Nursing
• Presentation of work at a scientific meeting of History of Nursing

DURATION OF THE COURSE:

The course makes a total workload of 40 hours of classroom and 8 hours of supervised visits.

FEES:

It’s a free course. The lessons will be taught in Rio de Janeiro are dependent upon availability of vehicle for transporting students from the University. If not available these lectures will be held in Ribeirao Preto.
The course does not include costs of students with accommodation and food, and students pay for their personal expenses.
